Update on GST


We are pleased to release the Goods and Services Tax (GST) News Alert providing an insightful coverage of latest GST news and the key developments that are likely to impact trade.

 

The Constitution (122nd Amendment) Bill for Goods and Services Tax (GST) was tabled in the winter session of the Parliament with an intent to have it cleared during the Budget Session. The first half of the Budget Session witnessed the announcement of Union Budget 2015-16. After a break, the Budget session will commence on 20 April 2015 and will end on 8 May 2015.

 

In the interim, the Union Finance Minister has met the Empowered Committee of the State Finance Ministers and has secured broad consensus on GST. FM has expressed his intent to take up the Constitution Amendment Bill in the Parliament for consideration and passage in the next few weeks.
