How to File Income Tax Return for AY 2014-15 ( FY 2013-14)


The below process is only for the taxpayer who is having salary and bank Interest Income. In case Tax payer is having any other source of income, the below –mentioned process is not applicable to him. Further, please note that all person having receipt of taxable income of more than Rs. 2 Lakhs are now mandatory require to file their tax return online.


The process is given below.
·         Log into the website https://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/

·         Login with your pan number, date of birth & password.

·         For first time user, please register first with the details available in the PAN Card.  Please do not forget the password as it is difficult to retrieve the same.

·         Click the tab – download – Income Tax return and download ITR-1 Sahaj Java Utility.  ( Excel version may be available in future).

·         Click the file – Executable JAR File named ITR-1_AY201415_........

·         There may be requirement to download the Java first in some of the computer system to run the tax-return utility.

·         Click the option new file and save it the computer system.

·         Fill personal information, Income details, Tax details, 80G and at last verification. 

·         Fill the form carefully as per the Form 16 issued by employer sand Form 16A issued by Bank.

·         Check all the PAN & TAN number carefully.

·         Click the option submit.

·         It will again ask for your password & date of birth.

·         Fill it and select the option without digital signature

·         Click  submit and your Income return has been filed.

·         Download the Income tax return and save into your system.

·         Open the PDF file, the password will be PAN in lowercase followed by date of birth.  Eg. AAACP1234G22011970.

·         Take the print and sign it and sent the signed hardcopy to
Income Tax Department – CPC
Post Bog No. 1
Bangalore – 560100.
