SC adjourns hearing of SLP
filed by Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi & Rahul Gandhi against Delhi HC
order allowing reassessment in connection with National Herald controversy, to
January 8, 2019; Since the limitation period for completing the assessment is
expiring, SC directs AO to complete the assessment and pass the assessment
order as well; However, SC states that “till the next date of hearing that
would not be given effect.”; Clarifies that “since the matter is still at the
preliminary stage and limitation is expiring, aforesaid course of action is
adopted without going into the merits of the case”.
